It's finally time I share my experience about STAREAST 2024.
This was a very special one for me, as I had my first ever keynote session, and I must say, I did feel the pressure in the lead-up, but that pressure immediately disappeared when entering the stage. I'm glad that people got the message I wanted to deliver, and I also managed to teach some people on the basics of solving the Rubik's Cube. :-)
I also had my usual tutorial in which I teach my students on how to become their company's QA Consultant/Architect. Lots of discussions that sparked so many great new ideas for me too, so I'm definitely bringing a slightly revised version next time.
As I was the second keynote speaker, I had the luxury to just enjoy the whole conference after my session. I visited the Test Lab quite often, and made sure this time that I am not trolling at all, didn't want Julie and Chris to be mad at me too much. :-)
I had lots of time to catch up with people I befriended at previous TechWell events, and also meeting some more interesting folks. AI in testing was definitely one of the more popular work related topics. What I've observed is that companies are looking into solutions or building those in-house, but still could not find the AI Testing Ark. You might wanna visit my colleagues at the AI Con USA in Vegas next month. They're going to be there with the Test IO booth.
Another interesting fact: there were a huge amount of people who not only came for the 2-day conference, but for the tutorials as well. It felt like almost everyone had a full week pass. It definitely helped in having more conversations, and seeing more familar faces by the time Wednesday had come.
I had a fun interview with Señor Performo, the one and only Leandro Melendez. Check it out, if you want to hear more insights! :-)
